A generalized modeling of a PV System using Matlab Simulation with MPPT for the Speed Control of a 3-Phase Induction Motor[Full-Text ] Hitesh Joshi, Poonam Lodhi, Pankaj KumarIn this paper the speed control of three-phase induction motor is achieved and also the analysis of the motor parameters have been done with the help of the modeling and simulation of the induction motor in MATLAB 2011b. The photovoltaic (PV) array is used as a source which is taking the solar irradiation in the input, through which the induction motor is being operated. The PV array is modeled by connecting various solar cells in series and parallel combinations. The simulation of the PV array is done in the MATLAB 2011b software. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method is used to track the maximum possible power, and is modeled using the perturb and observe (P & O) algorithm. The modeling of the dc-dc buck converter is done to step-up the voltage to the desired level .To transform the dc voltage into the ac voltage an inverter is employed , which is getting the gate pulses from the pulse width modulation (PWM) generator. The PWM generator is generating the signals from the control strategy being used to convert the voltage from the two-axis reference frame to the three- phase and vice-versa. The modeling and simulation of each part is performed individually.

Exhumation History and Tectonics across Purulia – Bankura Shear Zone: Constraints from Apatite Fission Track Analysis.[Full-Text ] Amal Kumar GhoshThe Purulia-Bankura Shear Zone (TPSZ) is a ductile- to-brittle-ductile, tectonically disturbed narrow zone of nearly 150 Km with a WNW-ESE trend. Two different rock assemblages, the Chhotanagpur Gneissic complex and rocks of the Shinbhum Group (SG) Occur on opposite sides of this shear zone The TPSZ borders the Meso- Proterozoic greenschist facies litho-package of the SG, which is comprised of meta sedimentary rocks, felsic volcanics, mafics/ultramafics, granitoids and an alkaline/carbonatite suite of rocks. The Chotanagpur Gneissic Complex contains amphibolites to granulite facies in the north mafic-ultramafic suites of rocks that are in close proximity to felsic volcanics, suggesting a bimodal character of magmatic episodes. The TPSZ was subjected to a compressional regime, and its development is attributed to thrusting and wrenching. The area initially underwent rifting, volcanism, granite plutonism, and shallow sedimentation followed by shearing. The possible reactivation and exhumation history of the area was analyzed using apatite fission tracks (AFT). Offset of AFT ages between the two rock assemblages occur on the two sides of this shear zone, indicating that reactivation occurred due to over-thrusting at approximately 500 Ma, which is further supported by the results of thermal history models. The youngest AFT age of 260 Ma means that this age is a result of the entire thermal history of the sample. Furthermore, samples from Sushina hills indicate AFT ages decreasing towards Beldih via Chirugora. We interpret this to be an effect of motion along this shear zone. The thermal history indicates that the samples were rapidly exhumed at 600 Ma, given that the samples were cooled rapidly and subsequently re-heated; therefore, a cooling-only history is impossible. Denudations are predominantly controlled by tectonic processes and to a lesser degree, by erosional processes. Most of the sample ages are in the 200-to 300 Ma range, but their track-lengths are quite short, providing thermal history information before 600 Ma .

AN IMPROVED METHOD OF QUALITY SERVICE DURING HANDOVER IN 3G WIRELESS NETWORKS[Full-Text ] Udeh I.J, offia I.S, Eke JThe convergence of heterogeneous wireless access technologies has been envisioned to characterize the next generation wireless network. The heterogeneous co-existence of access technologies with largely different characteristics results in handoff asymmetry that differs from the traditional intra network handoff (horizontal handoff) problem. The main secret behind the network failure in vertical handoff and improvements to maintain a constant network standard is considered in this paper. Analytical framework to evaluate the coverage performance which was validated by computer simulation and how the proposed analytical model that was provided for guidelines for the characterization of vertical handoff in integrated wireless network is also presented.

MICROPROPAGATION OF SYZYGIUM CUMINII L.USING IN VITRO TECHNIQUE[Full-Text ] Usha Yadav, Smita Bisht, Shahid S. Siddique and Ram Babu.Immature seeds of Syzygium cuminii L. produced seedlings after a week when cultured on Murashige and Skoog’s medium supplemented with a cytokinin BA (0.05-1.0 mg/l) and NAA (0.01-0.05 mg/l). The seedling explants were induced to form callus on MS medium containing 2,4-D ( 0.05-1.0 mg/l ) with BA ( 0.5-2.0 mg/l). Such callii subsequently, produced shoot buds when sub cultured on MS medium supplemented with BAP (0.5-2.0 mg/l) singly or in combination with NAA (0.05-0.2 mg/l). Upto 85% of cultures showed shoot formation with about 25 shoots / culture from callus cultured on medium containing 1.0 mg/l of BA along with 0.05 mg/l of NAA. Adventitious shoots showed root initiation when sub cultured on MS medium containing IBA and / or NAA 1.0 mg/l). However further growth and development of rooted shoots occurred only when plantlets were transferred to MS basal medium. About 75% of rooted shoots have successfully been established to soil.

Golden Ratio in Architecture and the Human Heart[Full-Text ] Reham AL SharifNatural and artificial design always contains certain elements that provide the aesthetic attributes of the individual structure or item. These design elements might be unique to the individual items under study but in most cases, exhibit a pattern in the things that are aesthetically pleasing. The most famous of these patterns is the Golden Ratio that is also known as the Divine Section, Divine Proportion, and Golden Mean (Rydén, 3). It was first used in architecture in 2650 BC in the building of the Great Pyramids of Giza (King, 68). The Golden Ratio has also been observed in human anatomy, especially in the bone structure. The pattern of the human body provides a consistency that is harmonious and thought to indicate the perfect nature of human anatomy (Henein, 242). What is the importance of the golden ratio in architecture and the human body?

3D Reconstruction Based On Block Matching and Image Pyramiding[Full-Text ] Mr. K. Rasool Reddy, Mr. K. M. K. Phani Raja, Mr. Ch. Madhava RaoNowadays, there is an increase in the usage of geometric 3D models in movie industry, games and virtual environments. There are several existing solutions like user-driven models, 3D scanners but they are not fully satisfying in either in terms of cost and or in efficiency. To overcome these problems, we have introduced a cost-effective solution based on analyzing image sequences. The main focus of this paper is on stereo vision; it is the process of recovering depth from camera images by comparing two or more views of the same scene. This paper mainly focuses on how to compute the depth map between two rectified stereo images. In this paper we use block matching, which is the standard algorithm for high-speed stereo vision in hardware systems. We first explore basic block matching, and then apply dynamic programming to improve accuracy, and image pyramiding to improve speed.

A New Single-Phase to Three-Phase Adjustable Speed Drive Based on Z-Source Inverter[Full-Text ] Asst. Prof. Majid K. Al Khatat, Lina J. RashadThree-phase to three-phase Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) was widely studied for motor drives. This paper proposed a new single-phase to three-phase ASD system based on Z-source inverter. The Z-source inverter system has a unique X-shape of two LC network between in the frontend of the diode rectifier and the AC side. By controlling the shoot-through duty cycle, the Z-source can produce any desired output AC voltage. The overall system model and control is illustrated two control strategies are designed and investigated. As results the new proposed Z-source system provides ride-through capability during voltage sags, reduces source harmonics, reduces input voltage ripple, reduces hardware complexity, and extends output voltage range. Analysis and simulation results will be presented to demonstrate these features.
