UTILIZATION, ECOLOGICAL STATUS AND THE CONTRIBUTION OF BUOL WETLAND TO THE WELLBEING OF LOCAL COMMUNITY; THE CASE OF LARE DISTRICT OF GAMBELLA REGIONAL STATE SOUTH-WEST ETHIOPIA[Full-Text ] Bol Puoch Deng , Prem Kumar, Abiyot Mamo TerfaWetlands are ecotone habitats, stretched between terrestrial and aquatic habitats, seasonally or permanently saturated with water (Ramsar 2015a). Hydric soil and anaerobic conditions result in specific vegetation which distinguishes wetlands from other aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. However, these benefits and contributions are not well researched at specific localities and ecosystems and less promoted.

Effect of CD4 Count and timing of initiation of TB treatment on treatment outcome among TB/HIV Patients[Full-Text ] Melat MenberuCo infections TB /HIV raised the challenge of the TB control among all TB cases, 8.6% were people living with HIV. Improved ART coverage reported in reducing incidence of TB. WHO has recommended universal access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV-positive TB patients irrespective of CD4 count. Co-diagnosis of HIV and tuberculosis presents a treatment dilemma. Due to high mortality associated with TB among HIV patients. Treatment outcome of TB in HIV infected patients was poor compared to non- infected. High death rate occurred among HIV infected TB cases.

Characteristics of lump waves solutions in a (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation[Full-Text ] Md. Azizur Rahman, Harun-Or-Roshid and Md. Fazlul HoqueIn this paper, we consider a (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation to determine its periodic lump waves. To do that, we cast the equation into its Hirota bilinear form firstly. We offer periodic lump wave through a test function in-terms of exponential and periodic cosine functions. Finally, the interactions of solitary waves and lump waves are presented with an entire analytic derivation. Some grapgs are incorporated to visualize the dynamics of the obtain wave solutions.

DETECTION OF BURIED UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE (UXO) USING ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE TOMOGRAPHY AND GROUND PENETRATING RADAR TECHNIQUES: NIGERIAN CASE STUDY[Full-Text ] Adepelumi. Adekunle Abraham, Ebute Solomon Adah, Falade Ayomiposi Henry, Ololade Bukola, Ojo Olabanji Adeolu, Kajola Sakirat Ajoke, Ojo Sunday Oluwaseyi and Osotuyi Abayomi GaiusA modeled study of the feasibility of applying geophysical methods, electrical resistivity and ground penetrating radar (GPR), in delineating buried synthetic Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) in a typical Basement Complex environment was carried out in this research. The electrical resistivity method utilizes Dipole–Dipole resistivity and Wenner Horizontal Profiling (WHP) techniques. Resistivity data were obtained at 20 and 13 station positions (using a spacing of 5 cm) along the longitudinal and transverse traverses established along the length, while Twenty-nine (29) traverses, in a grid form, were established in the GPR survey with lengths varying between 10 and 15 m

Adsorption of Dyes through Clay Adsorbent[Full-Text ] Saman Khawaja, Anum KhawajaThe aim of this research paper is to investigate and identify the use of clay adsorbent in order to treat waste water from textile industries, and to make recommendations for industries where wet processing is carried out for Dyeing fabrics. Although a lot of waste water treatments are incorporated, but at present a cost effective and operationally feasible method is required. This identifies the uses of clay adsorbents for removal of two reactive dyes Procion Red HEXL & Procion Yellow HEXL of Dystar Japan.

Challenges and Opportunities of Plastic Waste: A Case Study of Akure Metropolis[Full-Text ] Joseph B. Bassey, Isaac F. Odesola, Ayoola T. OsunsadeEnvironmental challenges that plastic waste poses have raised serious concern. Several post-used measures have been proposed to curtail the devastating effect of dumping plastic waste on landfill. Some of the measures proposed are recycling and waste to energy concept. However, recycling plastics may not be economically viable if adequate technique is not deplored in the process and choice of plastic to be recycled. In this study, plastic waste and waste management trend in Akure metropolis was assessed

Compressive Strength and Modified Pull-Out Bond Strength between Concrete and Reinforcement at Elevated Temperatures[Full-Text ] Aizaz Khan ArbabConcrete is considered one of the most fire resistant and durable material however, exposure to long-time elevated temperature affect the mechanical properties of concrete. This paper focuses on finding the degradation of concrete mechanical properties (compressive strength and modified pull-out bond Strength) at elevated temperatures ranging from 300-900 °C. Two different types of specimens were fabricated for finding the compressive and modified pull-out bond strength.

Evaluation of Mechanical Defects in Power Transformer Windings Based on Frequency Response Analysis[Full-Text ] J.O. Aibangbee, S.O. Ikheloa, and F. S. OsayiIn-depth evaluation of mechanical defects of a 150 MVA, 330/132 kV power transformers windings was investigated in this study based on Frequency Response Analysis (FRA). The FRA, short circuit impedance and insulation resistances measurements were performed to deter-mine transformer windings deformation, mechanical defects, and insulation conditions of the transformer's windings using Frequency Re-sponse Analyzer and Megger insulation tester. The attenuation in decibel (dB) of the transmitted signal was measured over a frequency range from 20 Hz to 2 MHz.

Field Movements between Fes and Taza Risk of Landslides of an Embedded Passage of Highway Vehicles PV113 of the Oued Amlil -Taza section. Morocco Expertise and Stabilization Methodology[Full-Text ] Alaoui Mustapha, Mehdi Khalid, Bendahhou Zourarah, Hamou Mansouri, Abdellah BouhouNorthern Morocco, landslides play a role in the evolution of slopes. The geological and geotechnical studies of the ground are most often motivated by the search for solutions to a movement said. Thus, the objective of this work is to study the stability of the embankment with the passage of the vehicle PV113 section of the A2 highway between Oued Amlil and Taza. Stability calculations have concluded that the break is sliding rotational type, and a circular type failure, the surface would be at 10m depth. Action of water in the embankment and into the substrate altered favored pore pressure exceeds the shear strength, leading to the development of the driving forces sufficient to move. Materials marly slope physical characteristics favorable to landslides.
