SafeQ: A Privacy and Integrity Preserving Queries in Sensor Networks[Full-Text ] Premlatha Khiyani, Dr. Rishi SayalThe architecture of two-tiered sensor networks, where storage nodes serve as an intermediate tier between sensors and a sink for storing data and processing queries, has been widely adopted because of the benefits of power and storage saving for sensors as well as the efficiency of query processing. However, the importance of storage nodes also makes them attractive to attackers. In this project, we propose Safe Q, a protocol that prevents attackers from gaining information from both sensor collected data and sink issued queries. SafeQ also allows a sink to detect compromised storage nodes when they misbehave. To preserve privacy, SafeQ uses a novel technique to encode both data and queries such that a storage node can correctly process encoded queries over encoded data without knowing their values

Real-Time Intelligent Framework for Detecting Malaria Outbreak[Full-Text ] Babagana Modu, M. A. BilkisuOccurrence of malaria out break in developing countries have pose social and economic problem to the populace. Despite effort for preventive measures, by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other health organisation agencies, there are a lot of uncertainty regarding where and when the outbreak of malaria will strike remains a key challenges. Several works were presented applying wide range of techniques towards reducing the incidence of malaria out break. The out break of malaria parasite is still on the high rate due to inadequate mechanism for tracking, detecting and preventing the outbreak in advance. This research seeks to propose a framework using real-time incidence of malaria out break to monitor the pattern of incidences of the out break. This proposed framework using real-time statistical control charts such as cumulative sum (CUSUM) and exoponential weighted moving average (EWMA) will be of great importance to hospitals, public health ofï¬cials and policy makers with prior information to better prepare in anticipation of malaria outbreak for better management and planning.

Effect of Prolonged and Cyclic Immersion Time on Durability of Flexible Pavement Asphalt Mixes[Full-Text ] Alaa M. AliStudies on the hot mix asphalt (HMA) durability assessment have generally been performed to find out the resistance of bituminous mixtures to water. Egypt road network covering north and delta regions are showing severe deterioration due to water intrusion that breaks the bond between aggregates and asphalt film causing raveling and stripping distresses. The main purpose of this paper is to recognize the effect of moisture due to water puddles that coming after rains and floods at winter on durability of HMA of road pavement. The paper proposes new technique to investigate the influence of water on asphalt mix durability and hence developing a new criterion for estimating the performance of the HMA through an indicator called "Durability Index".Based on selected criteria, a theoretical model that fulfills these criteria was adopted to assess the durability performance of the assigned HMA. This parameter is derived from the "accumulative loss of stability" values along the above-mentioned time series. It was continued until reaching the minimum required value for stability as per Egyptian code of practice (ECP2010). This criterion is revealed as the "Durability Index" which could be utilized in predicting the future performance and durability of different asphalt mixes intended to be used.

User inferface for public information system[Full-Text ] Bikash Chandra Singh, Ashrafunnahar Hena, Mohammad Muntasir Rahman, Md. Sipon Miah Public information system has been used in public places as such in rail station for purchasing ticket, kiosk- a small, temporary, standalone booth used for marketing purposes, etc. without the help of human being. Traditionally this type of system uses touch screen by which people interface with the public information system. In such cases, traditionally touch screen are built with the entire system. Thus, the whole system will be spoiled if somehow the touch screen does not work properly. To overcome this situation, in this paper we have designed a portable or movable touch screen device that can be used to control public information system. The positive side for using this type of touch screen is that it is portable and movable in spite of the entire system.
