The Implementation of Islamic Banking in Developing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Southeast Sulawesi[ ]


This research is a quantitative study aiming to implement Islamic banking in the UMKM sector in Southeast Sulawesi. The data used are primary and secondary. Population and sample are the UMKM actors in Southeast Sulawesi and analyzed by using multiple linear regression. The results showed that Islamic banking activities apply sharia principles, including (1)Mudharabah, that is financing based on the principle of profit-sharing; (2)Musyarakah, that is financing based on equity participation; (3)Murabahah, that is the principle of buying and selling goods for a profit; (4)Ijarah, that is financing capital goods based on the principle of the pure lease without options; (5)Ijarahwa Iqtina, that is financing goods ownership which is leased from the bank by the customer.

Analysis of Air Quality in the Agbada Flow Station Gas Flare Stack Environment, Aluu Niger Delta, Nigeria[ ]


Analysis of air quality around a gas flare stack environment was conducted for CO, SO2, NO2, VOC and SPM5 for one day (morning, afternoon, evening) at three locations of 50m, 100m and 150m away from the gas flare stack. The ANOVA statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation were used in the analysis. The result showed that only SO2 was not within the WHO acceptable limits for air quality. However, the validated hypothesis stated that there is no statistically significant difference between the air quality in the study area and the WHO standard, hence indicating that the result is attributed to chance.

The detection and distribution of watermelon mosaic virus (WMV-2), which causes severe damages to Cucumber, Cucumis sativus L. Pumpkin, Cucurbita moschata L. and Edible squash, Cucurbita pepo L. (Cucurbitales: Cucurbitaceae) plants in Usak province and its districts were investigated in this study. For this, cucurbit plants showing the symptoms of WMV virus were sampled in 2017-2018 and analyzed by DAS-ELISA method.

This work presents the results obtained as part of a study on the Contribution to the study of the combined toxicity of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium and Aluminum on the Matete River ecosystem in Kinshasa. The general objective pursued in this study is to evaluate the combined toxicity of lead, mercury, cadmium and aluminum on fish species populations. It was conducted in situ in the Matete River (measurements of physico-chemical pH and temperature parameters) and ex situ (ecotoxicological tests and elementary analyzes by X-ray spectrometry or X-ray fluorescence) respectively at the Ecotoxicology, ecosystem health, environmental health laboratory.

Data Mining is the process of extracting useful information and discovering patterns from large datasets to generate some useful information and helps in getting knowledge-based information. One of the main purposes of data mining is to identify which algorithm works best for the given problem or situation. In this paper, we will use Clustering techniques and explore its different algorithms on a Pima Indian diabetes dataset. The algorithms which we will be using are Simple K-means, Farthest First, EM and Filtered cluster. Implementation will be done on a data mining tool called WEKA to determine which of these algorithms give better optimized results.
